Sex, Sexuality, and Human Rights: Learnings and Recommendations from the Sexuality, Gender and Rights Institute

October 20th at 9:00am Atlanta & DC / 4:00pm Beirut

The question of sexuality is a complex one when it comes to addressing it in our programming. From reproductive health rights to gender and child marriage, sexuality is an integral part of people’s identities and their right to practice it. In June Sophie Orthela (CARE Haiti), Lejla Sunajic (CARE Lebanon), and Aliya Firozvi (CARE US) attended the Sexuality, Gender and Rights Institute hosted by CREA where they learned and discussed the various complexities of working with the issue and how to more fully consider it in our programming. They brought back those learnings to CARE to open up a conversation on where we stand, and how we need to forward.
