August 2011: Summary of Discussion on GBV Prevention and Conflict Resolution

• This discussion focuses on the challenges of GBV prevention in our work, and specifically on the challenge of preventing conflicts/disagreements from escalating into violence.

July 2012: Summary of Discussion on care of staff working on GBV

• This joint discussion between the GBV and GED Institutional Working Groups focused on the safety and well-being of staff working on gender-based violence programming.

October 2012: Summary of Discussion on cost of violence against women

• This topic has emerged as a common area of interest across various COs. In response to a request from one of our members, the group shared resources, tools and learning on costing violence against women.

Staff care:

• CARE Burundi shared their organizational policy on psychosocial support for staff (in French) and key roles and criteria for psychosocial advisors.
• CARE Austria shared their guide for country offices on how to integrate a psychosocial dimension into women's empowerment programming. This guide includes chapters on integrating psychosocial support for GBV survivors as well as staff into programming.
• CARE Austria shared Psychological First Aid, which is useful guidance on how to deal with people in desperation.
